SILVER tracheostomy tubes
SILVER tracheostomy tubes are HAND-MADE in GERMANY from high-grade sterling silver (925) of medical quality.
Due to their conical and seamless tube form these tracheostomy tubes enable easy insertion and avoid irritations to the tracheal wall (special versions, e.g. tracheostomy tubes with cylindrical form, are explicitely marked in the catalog).
The material of these tubes has an anti-bacterial impact and their smooth surface is easy to clean. The flange of these cannulas features two lateral eyelets to fix the inserted tracheostomy tube with a neck strap.
The extremely thin walls of these tracheostomy tubes provide a maximum lumen and therefore a large capacity for ventilation, even in small-sized cannulas. The material properties allow the increment of the inner diameter without changing the outer diameter. More air can enter and pass through the cannula. This increased inner volume makes silver cannulas superior to thicker medical-grade polymer cannulas in their intake capacity.
In addition, SILVER tracheostomy tubes are characterized by their high durability which allows a longer duration of use. Therefore they are often considered as economical long-term tubes.
This type of tracheostomy tube is always presented in sets with the inner cannula and outer cannula fitting together perfectly. This guarantees safe removal of the inner cannula for cleaning purposes or in case of shortness of breath.The inner cannula can be fixed or released by moving a small silver lever on the outer cannula..
